Korean dogwood
noun
: kousa dogwood
Korean dogwood (Cornus kousa) blooms later than our native tree (C. florida) and hangs on to its leaves longer too. While the native is one of the first trees to show color fall, the kousa is one of the last, gracing my garden with its orange-red foliage in November.—Marian St. Clair, Greenville (South Carolina) News, 19 Oct. 2013
